SCS was formed in 1990 as an architectural forensic firm to complete investigations related to construction and
construction defect.

SCS Principle, Mark Nelson Werther, R.A.., has been practicing architecture since 1978 and maintains an active
architectural practice with registrations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He has completed over 600 projects and
consultations in residential, commercial, small industrial, greenhouse and religious construction.  One of his
specialties is forensic architecture.  MNW and SCS provide a wide array of consulting services.

In 18 years of SCS consulting, Mark Werther has been involved in the following types of investigations and projects:

1. Code review and analysis.

2. General construction defect, moisture intrusion.

SCS services have been utilized by plaintiffs, defendants, insurance companies, businesses and individual
homeowners in a variety of capacities including factual investigations, consultations, research and expert
testimony. Based on SCS’s photographic expertise and understanding of architectural detailing, SCS has been
used as forensic recorder of site condition information for multiple parties.  Case values have been from several
thousand dollars to $33,000,000.

An SCS specialty is fast response - limited time review and analysis of case information with resulting preliminary
recommendations.  These recommendations are utilized to develop a strategy for proceeding. This includes
identification of real defects, levels of liability, additional information required, and types and depths of experts to be utilized.
